Brightpath Maths: Developing Whole School Approaches to Support Students

Careful examination of data can help leaders develop Whole School Approaches to teaching mathematics in order to address some areas of concern.

In this one day workshop, Dr Sandy Heldsinger will help you examine your Brightpath Mathematics data.

Then Dr Paul Swan and Narelle Rice will review how the literacies of mathematics can and do impact on students’ ability to read and comprehend mathematics word questions.

Structures will be provided to help improve the comprehension of mathematics word questions. Leaders and teachers will leave with a range of practical materials that may be implemented straight away.

Please note: Feedback from this session will be used to inform the making of video support for teachers in remote locations.

Brightpath Formative Assessment

This workshop will examine how Brightpath can be fully utilised as a formative assessment tool including:

  • how to develop a Brightpath Learning and Improvement cycle for their school

  • how they can be use Brightpath at each stage of the cycle to improve school student learning
